When it reaches landfall on Wednesday night, it is predicted to cause hazardous winds, torrential rains, and destructive storm surges. Residents are asked to leave right now or find refuge.

In only 48 hours, Milton quickly strengthened from a tropical storm to a Category 5, in part because of the exceptionally warm Gulf waters. Milton is one of the few Atlantic hurricanes in recent memory to reach a core pressure of less than 900 mb.

Where is Hurricane Miton Going To Make Landfall?

Milton is predicted to land on Florida’s Gulf Coast (Near Sarasota) between late Wednesday and early Thursday.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis stated on Tuesday that “we must be prepared for a major, major impact to the west coast of Florida.”

With sustained gusts of 155 mph (250 kph), the storm was located around 250 miles (405 km) southwest of Tampa as of Wednesday morning.

Through Wednesday night, “a northeastward motion with some increase in forward speed is expected,” according to the storm center.
