The City of Gulf Shores Welcomes You
Gulf Shores Beach Safety Division strives to provide the best beach experience for all residents and visitors year-round. The City provides seasonal lifeguard services between March and October and encourages the public to swim at the protected public swimming areas when lifeguards are present.
Excellent entry points for the general public are located along the road that borders the beach. Most spaces are paid, although occasionally there are free spots available across the street. A few access points have foot showers and bathrooms. The beautiful, well-maintained white sand is always present. Blue walking mats near the main entry make it much simpler to get to the water. They don’t run as long, but the distance that they do cover is quite a help.
At the moment, Gulf Shores has eight public beach access points:
- Lagoon Pass
- West 13th Street
- West 12th Street
- West 10th Street
- West 6th Street
- West 5th Street
- West 4th Street
- Gulf Place West and East Beach
The city of Gulf Shores does an excellent job of maintaining the city’s roads and beaches clean and hospitable to everyone, just like any other service we have used. This is one of the main reasons we are staying there. It was fantastic to go up and down the city beach. The ocean and beach are fantastic, however there was a lot of seaweed to be cleaned up because the tide had come out.
